Red Meranti
Wood pink brown to "dark red" or purplish brown, with white resin streaks. Interlocked grain. Ease of workability. Perfect for mouldings.
Merbau
Wood sometimes orangey brown, becoming dark red brown or dark brown in the light. Present of yellow sulphur deposits. One of worlds most stable species. Most preferred and classified as a bushfire-resisting timber in Australia.
Bangkirai/Yellow Balau
Yellow brown to reddish brown more or less dark. The European preferred species species for decks.
Red Balau
Wood light to dark "Red Brown" or purplish red brown to grey brown. Canals filled with white resin. Naturally resistant to decay, mold and insects. Most preffered species for "Decking" in USA.
Rubberwood/Hevea
Creamy white colour, wood becoming light brown by time. Coarse texture. Mostly used for furniture, stair treads and glue laminated.
Keruing/Apitong
Red brown. Presence of resin. Naturally durable. Versatile timber with a range of uses for example: trailer decks, sleepers, marine plywood and many more.
Azobe
Dark red to purplish brown wood. Intermediate zone between sapwood and perfect wood (heartwood). White deposits in the pores. Azobé chosen for Europe’s longest cycle bridge. Diameter log from 60 to 100 cm. Thickness of sapwood: from 2 to 4 cm.
Durian
Pinkish brown. Straight or interlocked grain. Typical musk scent.
Meranti Bukit
This wood has an almost uniform texture without defects and white. It has a very low degree of drying. Color differences between the individual boards create a beautifully natural and usual look. The wood is very hard and has a long life thanks to its high density and its substances.
Meranti Seraya
"Light brown" and darkens in light. Normally heavier than red meranti.
Gerutu
Gerutu is the timber of the heavier species of Parashorea. Light Hardwood with a density ranging from 575- 880kg/m3 air dry. The sapwood is light yellow brown and frequently darker than the heartwood.
Iroko
is a common tree in intertropical Africa. It is a durable wood, which does not require any preservative treatment: it therefore offers economic and ecological advantages that make it an ideal material for outdoor use. Moreover, iroko has an interesting potential in carbon dioxide sequestration and soil improvement.
Kapur
Red brown and varies to pink brown. Camphor smell. Presence of thin resin veins. Durable timber and subspecies to Balau as decks and other products.
Palapi
The sapwood is not always clearly distinct, it varies in color from light yellow to light reddish. The heartwood is pale pink when fresh, after exposure it darkens to dark red-brown. Grain is straight to shallowly interlocked.
Sapele
Sapele shares the same botanical family as African Mahogany, making it a very close match in both visual appeal, wood processing, and working characteristics. Originates from West Africa. Most notably in the color of its heartwood (dark reddish brown), grain patterns, and internal characteristics that make it very durable.
Kempas
Red brown, weathering to orange-red or yellow brown. Beautiful exotic colour for your decks and flooring.
Heavy Majau
Also known by its botanical name Shorea pauciflora, is a medium to dark red brown timber with white resin streaks. The grain is typically interlocked, giving it a coarse texture, making it a highly versatile timber. It is perfect for joinery, flooring, and mouldings, and can be used in a variety of applications.
Spruce
Spruce wood is a softwood known as the “bread tree of Central European forestry. Heartwood is reddish brown, sapwood is yellowish white. Straight grained with a fine to medium texture. Overall, Spruce works fairly well with most tools, though the resin can gum up tools and clog sandpaper. Spruce glues and finishes well.
White Meranti
Sapwood is white and is moderately well-defined from the heartwood, which is almost white when fresh and becoming light yellow-brown on exposure.
Yellow Meranti
Sapwood is well-defined. Heartwood is light yellow-brown with green tinge, darkening to deeper shades of yellow-brown or brown.
Nemesu
Nemesu is one of three distinct Meranti subspecies we offer. Nemesu’s color ranges from dark brown to reddish brown. Harvested in Malaysia, Nemesu is used for boatbuilding and millwork, and window and door applications.
Teak
Yellow brown, darkens and presents golden glints with age. Sometimes black brown veins. Oily to the touch. Naturally resistant and luxurious species for yacht decking or flooring.
Plantation Mahogany (Swietenia Macrophylla)
Attractive reddish brown colour and durability. Renewable source (including other plantation species) for variety purposes.
Western Red Cedar
Western red cedar is a large softwood that grows in British Columbia and some of the nearby western states of the USA. A durable, yet soft timber, western red cedar has a good workability. A versatile timber, it is commonly used for applications such as cladding, windows and joinery.
